Because He Loves Me

What if I awoke every day with more expectancy. . . because He loves me and gave Himself for me?
What if I obeyed Him with more joy  . . . because He loves me and gave Himself for me?
What if I loved others with more compassion . . . because He loves me and gave Himself for me?
What if I experienced Him more and displayed the fruit of the Spirit more often . . . because He loves me and gave Himself for me?
What if I went to sleep every night with more peace . . . because He loves me and gave Himeself for me?
What if the truth of the gospel – that Christ shed His blood once for all and was raised on the third day – was transforming me every moment of every day?

Now this is the gospel message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him and yet keep on walking in the darkness, we are lying and not practicing the truth. But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.
But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous One, and He Himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the whole world.

I am writing to you, little children, that your sins have been forgiven because of His name. I am writing to you, fathers, that you have known Him who has been from the beginning. I am writing to you, young people, that you have conquered the evil one.
If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God resides in him and he in God. And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has in us. God is love, and the one who resides in love resides in God, and God resides in him.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love. We love because He loved us first.
And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. The one who has the Son has this eternal life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this eternal life. I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
